Fabric Overload!

After a very enjoyable couple of hours at the Abakhan sale I have a lovely bundle of fabric to play with.

Unfortunately that means a couple of days doing all the boring preparation work before I can actually start sewing.

So, as well as washing and ironing all the fabric I’ve been preparing pattern pieces: cutting out and ironing the pieces flat (don’t forget to turn steam off and use a low temperature).

For some of the patterns I also copied the patterns onto greaseproof paper as they are multi size and I may need to make other sizes.  I pin the pattern and paper together on my ironing board to draw round.  My ironing board has a mesh base so the pins go through easily without distorting the pattern.

Now I’m nearly ready to start some sewing, but may have over stretched myself with 5 patterns ready to go!
